BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Gilman Credit Union was formed in 1935 to serve the employees of the Gilman Fanfold Company. The company later merged with other similar companies to eventually form the Moore Corporation. In 2007 we became the Cataract City Federal Credit Union, a proud business member of the Niagara Frontier region.

The Credit Union is a savings and loan institution, operated by a Board of Directors and Credit Committee who are elected at the Annual Meeting of the membership. The Board of Directors appoints a Supervisory Committee.

An Act of Congress establishes the general rules and framework for federal Credit Unions.

With our new name came an increase in product offerings to better serve our members. The name changed, but one thing that will never change is the service we offer our members.

OUR MISSION

The purpose of the credit union is to promote thrift among its members by affording them an opportunity to accumulate their savings and to create for them a source of credit for provident and productive purposes.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to provide our members with low interest rates on loans and above average dividends on savings. We do this by offering a variety of loan specials throughout the year and by investing assets not loaned to members in federally insured financial institutions throughout the country.

Our office is in Niagara Falls, New York and our staff consists of our office manager, Kim Dolan and Member Representative Suzanne Lowery. Office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. We are closed for lunch from 11:15 to 12:15. You will find both Kim and Sue friendly and always ready to help in any way they can.
